Auckland, Dec. 23. Warder Anderson, the storekeeper at Mt. Eden, Mas assaulted by one of the prisoners this morning, and seriously wounded on the head, with an iron bar. The prisoner was recently transferred from Invercargill for assaulting a warder there. The object of the &s----s,ault was to get Anderson's keys..
