Moved By Ci Washbourno and seconded by Cr Walker that the portion of the Collingwood Parapara road latcv ly constructed be gravelled.—Carried. T. Harvey asked whether he would 1)0 allowed to transfer his contract for gravelling on the Tamatca road, <as lie was about to leave the district. In the meantime he would go on with it. The Council agreed to Mr Harvey going on with the work, and should circumstances arise that he would be unable to complete it he could transfor it to his nephew. The Chairman stated that the contractor for the Karaka. road had almost completed the present contract, and asked that the Council allow Mr Harvay to do about three chains more, which would utilise the grant, but that the sum of £5 10s per chain be allowed.—Moved by Cr Buchanan and seconded by Cr James that the contractor complete three chains more at the increased rate. —Carried.

Moved by Cr Walker and seconded by Cr James that the Works Committee deal with accounts at their next meeting.—Carried.

Moved by Cr Buchanan seconded by Cr Washbonrno that a progress payment be made to T. Harvey as soon as available from the Department!— Carried.

Cr Fish said that Carter had offered to spend a like sum to his rates if he was allowed to spend his rates on his by-road.—lt was resolved that Mr Carter be allowed to spend the amount.

Moved by Cr Walker, seconded by Cr Buchanan, that David Davis be pound keeper.—Carried. Moved by Cr Washbourne, seconded by Cr Walker, that plans be prepared for the erection of the bridge across the O.nekaka on the inland road.—Carried.

Moved by Cr Walkor, seconded by Cr Washbourne, that the £400 available for gravelling on the inland Takaka road be spent.—Carried. Moved by Cr Fish, seconded by Cr James, that the Engineer prepare plans and specifications of the bridge across the stream on the road to the quartz ranges.—Carried. it was resolved that the Engineer ascertain whether Keoghan's road was legalised.

Cr Fish drew the attention of the Council to the bad state of the bridge at the foot of Hayivard's hill and advised that it be repaired, otherwise th© noad would have to be closed. Cr Walker thought it would bo advisable to close the road until more funds, were available..

Moved by Cr Washbourne, seconded by Cr Walker, that the main road to Bainham be closed until further notice, and that a notice bo erected at the junction of the. said road and the one leading to the Bonny Doon.—Carried, Crs Fish and James dissenting. It was further resolved to apply for a small grant for this work.

Moved by Cr Fish, seconded by Or James, that Henry Rile*' be asked to clean out his water channel in order that Dolls' creek may be made more effectual.—Carried.

It was resolved that tho Inspector of faxious Weeds be written to stating that weeds on the various places given below were requiring attention: Crown lands, Onekaka, old coal mine l«nse, Parapara and'Appos Flat, vicinity of old police station, and properties near Burton Ale creek.

Cr James said that Stanto.n's creek bridge should be renewed as it was now almost inaccessible).—Moved by Cr James, seconded by Cr Fisl), that

the Minister for Mines and Public Works be written to asking him to 'place a grant at the disposal of the Council fdr replacing the top ture, which the &ngiheei- estimated would cost about £100.—Carried.

Cr Fish drew attention to the irpiiwork belonging it) the old Aprere bridge.—Moved by Cr Fish, seconded by Cr James, that all material at tha bridge be removed to the gublic pound. —Carried.
