NELSON CLUB. On. Saturday afternoon two feather matches were played. Rout's rink lost to Kompthorne'a rink, aaid Heap's rink in the other section defeated Sharp's. The scores and players were as follows : — Senn, Clayden, E. J. Allen, Kempthorae (s), 24.- 7 Clutten' (sub for Cullen, Stiles, Squires, Rout (s), 11. J. E. Alien, Gould, Mansford, Heaps (s), 23.— Wright, R. Allan, R. B. Jackson, Sharp (s), 11. Four ladder matches were played during "bhe week. Watt's rink, wljiclt had been so successful in the feathers competition, had not up till Thursday won a single game in the ladder contest. Watt, "for luck," changed his team round, putting Crawford from lead to skip, and taking third place himself. The rink put down Rout's decisively, Crawford playing some fine final shots. Watt's rink lost to Sharp's the next evening by a point. Littlejohnis rink lost a game and won a game. Players and scores were as follows: — Menzies, Cresswell, Watt, Crawford .(s), 16.— Dickson (sub for Cullen), Stiles, Bond (sub for Squires), Rout (s), 6. Harkness, Burdekin, de Castro, Sharp (s), 21.— Crawford, Menzies, Cresswell, Watt (s), 20. Kerr, King. Mansford, Littlejohn (s), 11.— Jacka, Wilmot, Moore, RutherfoTd (s), 10. Warren, Clutten, E. M. Jackson, Tasker (s), 16— Littlejohn'fl rink, 8. In the President's Pairs, Chisholm and Watt (s) beat Condell and de Castro (s). The winners have to play Wilmot and E. J. Allen in the final. The only match in the Lyell Cup contest was between Houlker and Field, the former winning. Mesdames Buttle and (Dr) Hamilton gave the afternoon tea on Saturday.
