CHURCH OF CHRIST.

The 33rd anniversary of the Bible School in connection, with the Church of Christ at Spring Grove was celebrated yesterday. Early in the afternoon tho children and visitors began to assemble and at four o'clock tho heavily _ laden. Tables presented an inviting appearance, the appetites of the juveniles receiving first attorition. In the . evening a public meeting was held in the chapel, which was uncomfortably crowded. The chair was filled by -Mr John Griffith, who stated that he had occupied that position on thirty-two occasions, being unavoidably absent once. As Superintendent of 'the school he referred to the good "work accomplished during its existence, resulting in over 100 additirios.. to the membership of the church. Out of nine additions last year eight were from the Bible School. Recitations and dialogues were very effectively given by the children and musical selections were contributed by the scholars under the leadership of Mr A. G. lvnapp. The Wai-iti singers, the Spring Grove singing class, and the Nelson choir also assisted in an excellent and varied programme. A duet by the Misses C.and'H. "Rickctts was very pleasingly rendered, and earnest and appropriate addresses were delivered by Messrs W. L. Jones (Nelson) and Edward Lewis. The Nolson contingent returned to town by the last train and- before separating on the platform three_ cheers were hpartilv given for the stationmaster (Mr E<lwar<3s) for his unfailing courtesy and consideration for the travelling public. ■-:;■'■'.- --* '
