Dunedin, January 6. The Science Congre9S met this forenoon. The buisness was the appointment of sectional committees, and a meeting of the General Council, at which it was resolved that the date of the Adelaide meeting of 1906 be September, and that the 1908 meeting be held at Brisbane in June. The resignation of Mr H. C. Russell, Govenment Astronomer, Sydney, as General Treasurer, owing to illhealth, was received with regret. Mr David Carmen, of Adelaide, was appointed his" successor. Professor Bolorvin Spencer was appointed Chairman of the present Council, and Miss W. Howehin and Mr J. H. V. Mason, local Secretaries for the Adelaide meeting, with Professor Baggas Treasurer. The wet weather which appears to have set in for a few days has put an extinguisher on all outdoor functions in honor of the Congress.
