Dunedin, October 20. The Rev. Benjamin Vanes, aged * 59, formerly a Wesleyan Minister, but who has for many years carried on independent services, died suddenly at "Waikouaiti to-day from heart failure. New Plymouth, October 20. Mr Thomas Oldfield, an old resi- _ dent of Taranaki, died suddenly today while walking along the road.
