Tug quarterly fritting of the Licensing Commit'ee was held vest rday, when there were pre ent : — Messrs G. Talbat, Kirkpattiok, W. Asersten, W. No tham. John Sso.t, Robeit W*»=on. Philip Baft, Charles Bird, and H. W. R jbin3on (in the Chair. The luspiCtor'e rep«r£ on the house 3 waa f*vor*b!e. Mr 0. J. Harley applied for a transfer of the license of tho Trafalgar Hotel from the execnt ra of the Jata Mr Turner to his widow. There wib no object'on, and the transfer was granted. The Official As ignea (Mr Soaife) in the ettate of Mrs Goffey applied for the tran frr of the Rising Sun Hotel license tj George Talhot. There vas co objeotion and the t anefer was gracted. Mr C. J. Hu-ley applied for the transfer of the license of the Saborbin North Hotel from the executors of the late Mrs Gallagher, to Mrs Waters. There was no objeotion, and the transit r was granted. An applica'ion was made under section 135 of ihe Aoi by George Talbot to be allowed to absent himself from the Rising Hun Hotel from March 4 h until the same day in Jane, and to put Mr Henry Stone, formerly of Wellington, in chars c. The Po'iae did not object to Mr Stone. Mr Stone, in teply to the Bench, said his wife bai hid some experience in keeping an hole. Mr Duncan, in reply to the Bench, saii the fact wa9 Talbot wanted to go oat of the hotel, end as they oonld not get an absolote license, the application was made. Mr Stone waE a fit p9raon to have charge, and the owners of tbo house quits approved of him. Application granted. Bffr 0. J. Hirley apclied for a transfer of the license of the Railway Hotel from Morgan O'Brien to Thomas Newman. Granted on condition thai tha receipt of the {.c paid to tha Richmond Boroogh Coanoil be produced to the Chsimnn. The Committee then adjourned.
