CONCEKT AT BICHMOND.
Tee Wetleyan Church at Richmond hßs lately been considerably renovated, and amongst the improvements in the interior of the building is a new pulpit, whioh looks quite artistic in compaiison with the old rostrum which used 10 do service. The walls being painted roße eoler makes tbe interior more attractive. A concert was given on Sept. 9th to aid in liquidating the expenses incurred in carrying oat the improvenwnts. At six o'olock the members cf tbn Choir of St John's Churoh left town for Richmond in conveyances supplied by Mr Gay. There was a good atlendance, and the exoellent programme was thoroughly enjoyed. During the evening several authema were sung by the Choir, the solo parta being taken by Mr F. Kidson (tenor) and Mr H. Kidson (base). Miss Larbins sarg «» The Gift" ; Mrs May, of Richmond, " Too Late"; Miss Newman " The Promise of Life" ; Mr F. Kidson " There is a Green Hill far Away." Some oapital instrumental music was supplied, a violin solo by Miss Kidßon, and quartettes by Misses Kidson and E. Crump and Messrs Kidson and H. Crump. At the clobo of the oonoert, the Rev Mr Marshal moved, and Mr Hodson seconded, a vote of thanks wbich was heartily aooorded to Mr _ P. Luoas (the Conduotor) and to the Choir for their cheerful and valuable assistance. Mr Luoas suitably replied. An abundance of refreshments were provided for the visitor?, whioh were duly appreciated. Mr J. Boon thanked the Biohmond friends for their warm hospitality. A etart was madd for Nelaon bcoq after, an i the party arrived at tbe Pedestal at a quarter past eleven, to tbe straius of " Home, Sweet Home."
