Ibe Cooiity Counoil Conference paeßed resolutions teoommending an amendment of tbe Bating Aot in the direction of ppeoifiying clearly who shall be Judge of the ABfeßsmeat Oourt in a case where more than one Magistrate exercises jurisdiction in a distriot ; also that it be clearly defined how rating may be made and levied on mining property. A resolution was oarried tbat failing provision in the Looal Government measure, the rating of Orown lands shall be made as proposed in last year's Bill ; blbo that the latter be reintroduced should the Local Government Bill fait to pass into law. It wbb resolved tbat valuatioDß for rating purposes be made by the Government, in ovder io secure uniformity, bb irregularities between local valuations oause serious injustice.

It was resolved to ask that tbe law relating to hawkers not contributing towards a coanty revenue be prevented from competing with looal traders.

It was resolved to recommend that an addition be made to clause 51 of. tbe Abbatoirs aDd Slaughterhouses Aot providing that the number of oattle to be slaughtered by farmers shall not exoeed 20 small or eight large per week, and that a record be kept.
