NELSON FIRE BRIGADE.
The 21st anniversary of the above Brigade took place at the Brigade room on Friday, Sept. 23rd, upon which occasion the election of officers took place for the ensuing twelve months. . All the old officers were re-elected, and the greatest unanimity and good feeling seemed to exist among the members. The following are the officers for the year ensuing :—Oaptaiu : Mr Lightfoot; Ist Lieutenant Charles Bird ; 2nd Lieutenant, H. Wiroset^, senr.; Foreman No. 1 Hose, T. Bowlings; Foreman No. 2 Ho3e, 0. Freeman ; Foreman Fire Company, J. E. LitUe; Treasurer, J. •M'Conkey ; Surgeon, Dr Coleman; Secretary, Wm. Oooksey. l vhe balance sheet, _ which showed a slight balance to credit, was read and adopted, and we were requested to call the attention of the public to the commencement of another year, and the ' fact, therefore, subscriptions are due, of which they will personally receive notice by "the visit of the collector, Mr Darby, who has, undertaken those dotie3 for some years past.
