NOXIOUS WEEDS
INSPECTOR’S REPORT OTOROHANGA COUNTY COUNCIL The following is the report of the noxious weeds - inspector (Mr N. Smith), as presented to the meeting of the Otorohanga County Council last Monday:— The gang has been steadily employed since last meeting and have plenty of work ahead of them. I attended a conference of noxious weeds inspectors at Cambridge last Tuesday and an Association of Noxious Weeds Inspectors was formed and the following resolution which we were asked to place before our respective Councils is as follows: “That this conference of Noxious weeds Inspectors at which Messrs Neil, of Hawke’s Bay and Robinson, of Rangitikei were present, earnestly request that the provision be made for the proposed Noxious Weeds Amendment Bill, to be submitted to a conference of noxious weeds inspectors so that they formulate a practical and constructive system of same before the Bill comes before the House. Cr Wynyard said that the request contained in the resolution was not unreasonable and ha asked that the New Zealand Counties Association should be asked to support the new association. It was accordingly moved that the matter should be taken before the next meeting of the No. 2 Ward of the New Zealand Counties' Association in the form of a remit supported by the Council.
