COMING SPORTS MEETINGS ARRANGEMENTS' MADE A meeting of teachers in the schools throughout Kawhia county was held at Kinohaku on Saturday to make arrangements for the annual primary schools’ sports meetings. It was decided that the 1948 competitions be held at Kinohaku on Saturday, 6th November. These will be held under the auspices of the Awamarino, Piri Piri, and Marokopa schools, the venue being held at Kinohaku in order to simplify the difficulty of transporting the children from the northern area. Officers were elected as follows: President, Mr Gordon (Awamarino); joint secretaries, Mrs E. Mosley (Awamarino) and Mr Ridgeway (Marokopa). Regarding the competitions in 1949, it was decided to make a departure and to hold them at Hauturu on the last Saturday in February, and the officials on that occasion will be: President, Mr F. Ormsby; secretary, Mr N. Bowyer.
