Grant for Nurses’ Shoes
Arrangements have been made by the Waikato-Hospital Board for hospital nurses tn purchase ward shoes and stockings from any retailor under a grant of £5 per annum for shoes and £2 10s for stockings. Previously an order for nurses’ shoes had been placed with a wholesale firm, but the. firm recently accepted the Board’s offer to cancel the purchase. Rotary Chib The vice-president, Mr T. J’. Quick, presided over last night’s meeting of the Rotary Club, held as usual in the Regent Lounge. The usual community sing and the fines sessions were held, Mr R. C. Judd leading the former and Mr G. D. Shepherd officiating in his capacity of sergeant at arms. The speakers were Quick, F. Parsons and G. Bundle, ail members of the Community Service Committee, and they presented reports of the activities of that committee. Letter of Appreciation A letter of appreciation' of treatment received while an inmate of ;he "Waikato Hospital was received by members of the hospital board at their meeting in Hamilton on Monday. The correspondent said that words could not express her gratitude for the services of the hospital staff, which were given willingly in a happy atmosphere of goodwill. The board received the letter and instructed the secretary to thank the sender for her remarks.
