RICHARD FARRELL
BRILLIANT NEW ZEALAND BORN PIANIST TO VISIT TE AWAMUTU SHORTLY Richard Farrell, who left New Zealand as a child prodigy, has returned this year as a pianist who has won overseas recognition at the age of twenty. His phenomenal powers of memory and technique indicate that New Zealand has at last, a pianist who will be ranked with the great virtuosi of the keyboard. Richard Farrell has given recitals to packed houses in the main centres of this Dominion. Musical critics have been unanimous in their high praise of his ability and judging by their demand for encores, audiences have been equally thrilled to hear him. It is to Richard Farrell’s credit that he is willing to give up part of his short time of re-union with his parents to visit three provincial towns in the Waikato. Te Awamutu, through its Community Arts Service is fortunate to be one of the favoured towns and it is hoped that citizens will support Richard Farrell’s recital in Te Awamutu by a capacity house.
