WILSON—PARRIS A very pretty wedding Was solemnised at the Baptist Ghureh, Te Awamutu, on July 17th when Jean, youngest daughter of Mi- and Mrs C. Parris, Hairini, was married to Murray, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Wilson of Puahue. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Garlick and Mrs Bertelsen carried out the duties of organist. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a dainty frock of ivory embossed satin, with a full gathered yoke and a long train. Her veil, which fell from a coronet of orange blossom, was arranged in a halo head-dress style and fell to the full length of the train. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet of cream roses, irises and cyclamen with maiden hair fern. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a lucky horse-shoe by Evan WilsonThe bridesmaid was Miss Gloria Paterson of Te Awamutu. She wore a very charming frock of cream French net stencilled with green over ivory satin. She carried a red-toned shower bouquet of roses, stocks, cyclamen and maiden hair fern, and also wore flowers of the same shade in her hair. Mr Colin Jones carried out the duties of best man. At the church the ushers were Mr L. Garrett and Mr F. Blake Jnr.

The guests adjourned to the Regent Lounge for the reception where the guests were received by Mr and Mrs Parris. The bride’s mother wore a biege suit under a fur coat with black accessories and a spray of blue tunings. Mrs Parris was assisted by Mrs Wilson, the bridegroom’s mother, who wore a navy ensemble with accessories to match, and wore a spray of autumn tonings. When Mr and Mrs Murray Wilson left by car for their honeymoon the bride travelled in a cyclamen frock, accessories to match, and wore a fur coat.

Among the invite.d guests were Mrs D. McKay, of Christchurch; Mr and Mrs Annon, of Otorohanga; Mr and Mrs Hall, of Putaruru; Mr and Mrs Silvester, of Auckland; Mrs T. Cumpstone, Kio Kio.

WAIDE—LLOYD

The Presbyterian Church at Kihikihi was recently the scene of a very pretty wedding of wide interest when Nolene, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. Lloyd, of Palmerston North, and Stanley, fifth son of Mrs and the late Mr Waide, of Nelson, were the contracting parties. The bride, who was given away by Mr A. Wolstenholm, wore a white silk velvet dress cut on classical lines; f with a fitting bodice and full skirt falling to a train. She carried a shower bouquet of white irises and maiden hair fern. The bridesmaid was Miss Dawn Thomas, who wore a dress of powder blue sheer silk with long bodice and gathered skirt. The bouquet was composed of spring flowers in daffodil and blue tonings, with maiden hair fern. Mr J. Bill was the best man. The Rev. K. L. Warren officiated. Mrs Champion (cousin of the bride) who received the guests, wore a black suit with black accessories and a shoulder spray of violets and orchids.
