WEDDING
ROWAN—LASKEY A quiet but pretty wedding took place at St. John’s Church, Te Awamutu, on 3rd August, when Nettie Laura, younger daughter of Mr F. W. Laskey and the late Mrs Laskey, of Paterangi Road, married Alex George, twin son of Mr and Mrs T. S. Rowan, Frontier Road. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Martin Sullivan and Mrs P. Martin Smith was organist. The bride entered the church with her father. She was becomingly attired in a particularly pretty ensemble in acqua blue with a jacket and smartly pleated skirt. She wore a brown feathered and veiled toque and brown accesories and carried a bouquet of crested camellias, stock, paper whites and maidenhair fern. In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Isabell Laskey, sister of the bride, who chose an attractive two-piece suit in biege with brown velvet trimmings and brown accessories. Her bouquet was of pink camellias, carnations, stock and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by his twin brother, Mr Albert Rowan. At the reception at the Regent Lounge the guests were received by Mrs J. C. Ross, aunt of the bride. She w;ore a black frock, coat, hat and accessories relieved with white and her spray was of chrysanthemums and soleil d’or. Mrs Rowan, who assisted the hostess, wore a burgundy frock and accessories and a fawn coat. Her shoulder spray was of cyclamen. When Mr and Mrs A. G. Rowan left for their honeymoon, the bride travelled in a teal costume with tan accessories. Their home is at Frontier Road, Te Awamutu.
