KAKEPUKU WINS
YOUNG FARMERS’ DEBATE The Auckland Provincial Young Farmers Club debate at which Kakepuku, the winners of the Waikato competitions, represented W aikato gainst the Waimana team, ,was won by the local representatives. Led by Mr W.G. Neill Jr., supported by Mr T. Ray and Mr F- Turner, the team proved themselves excellent debaters against the opposing team, Messrs G. Cranswick, R. Marrar and D. White who were also a very strong combination. The judge (Mr H. Woodyear-Smith) in his remarks stated that the debate had been a very close and keenly contested one by two very able teams. A challenge cup was presented by Mr D. S. Ross, past Dominion president to be held by the winning team, and this was accompanied by a miniature for each member of the team. A debate will now be held against Wellington Province, Auckland being represented by the Kakepuku team, for the North Island Young Farmers debating final.
