THE PRIMARY SCHOOL

HEADMASTER’S REPORT IMPROVEMENTS TO COCOA , ROOM The report of the headmaster, Mr N. F. Rigby, as presented to the meeting of the Te Awamutu Primary School Committee on Wednesday night, read as follows: The following is my report for the two weeks ending 7th June:—Average attendances: Week ending 31st May, 596.5; week ending 7th June, 610; average for two weeks, 603.2; present roll number, 682. I wish to thank the Works Committee for the great improvements made to the cocoa room. It has been enlarged, and an extra copper and a sink have been installed. All these improvements greatly facilitate the making of the cocoa. Cocoa is now being distributed. The central heating is now in use and is proving most satisfactory. The length of time during which the heater is to be kept on will be influenced by the weather.

I have been advised by the officer in charge of the School Savings Bank that the sum of £1 10s has been credited to the special savings bank account of your committee. The furniture for the new staff room and office has arrived, but the linoleum has yet to come to hand. Those present were Mr L. W. Spence (chairman), Messrs A. S. Prisk, A. M. Rennie, D. Edgecombe, J. E. Short, E. J. Menary, E, T. Short and G. M. Wall. The headmaster, Mr Rigby, and the secretary, Mr L. A. Johnston, were also present. An apology was received and sustained on behalf of Mr J. Waters.
