BRIGHT FUNCTION
AT PARISH HALL Enthusiasm and jollity marked the second of the series of complimentary socials held in the Parish Hall on Wednesday night under the auspices of St. John’s Women’s Auxiliary, there being many servicemen and women present. The organisers issue a special invitation to members of the Forces, and the invitation is always much appreciated. For Wednesday night’s function the dance music was provided by Mrs M. G. Sullivan, Mrs C. Davis, Mrs J. Rusken, Miss Enid Palmer and Aircraftman C. Hewitt, assisted by Mr M. Richardson, who also played violin solos. Mr H. H. Williams acted as M.C.
A humorous sketch by Miss Joan Webber, and poi dances by Miss Grace Thompson were much enjoyed. Two novelty dancing competitions were won by Miss Lorna Regan and partner.
