SOCIAL AND PERSONAL

Sergeant S. G. Clist, who has been on his annual vacation, has resumed duty at Te Awamutu.

Miss S. Parr left for Wellington last night to represent the Te Awamutu Red Cross sub-centre at the V.A.D. rally in that city.

Included in the small party of walking wounded recently returned from the Middle East are Lance-Bombardier C. Jones, of Te Kawa, and Sergeant J. P. Kihi, of Whatawhata.

Warm appreciation of the work being done by Mrs C. G. Downes as president of the Te Awamutu Red Cross sub-centre was expressed at the annual meeting yesterday. Mrs Downes voiced her gratitude to all country branches and convenors for their splendid year of service, and to all members and friends for their generous assistance and co-operation.
