PIRONGIA NEWS

There was a large attendance at the Pirongia Hall last Saturday evening to farewell Private Peter Bell, who is on final leave. Mr Livingstone, in presenting Private Bell with a leather wallet, wished him the best of luck and a safe return. Miss Clark obliged with a solo and dance music was supplied by Mr Fred Beet. Mr T. Bardsley was M-C. Among those present were: Mesdames J. McGruther, W. Butler, B. Kerr, L. Young, G. Owen, J. Grace, M. Moeller, B. Quin, H. Boggiss, B. Bromell, T. Knight, V. Rastrick, T. Bardsley, E. Bell, D. Campbell, W. Bell, P. Bell, J. McNaughten, R. Bell, Misses M. Simms, L. Bainbridge, L. Owen, F. Van Houtte, B. and E. Owen, M. Rowan, M. Loader, B. Campbell, E. McNaughton and S. Pacey.

Mr and Mrs E. Beet spent the week end in Pirongia with Mrs Eric Bell.

Mrs R. Ormsby is holidaying at Kawhia.

Gunner Dede Beet spent short leave in Pirongia. Aircraftman Eric Parkes is visiting his parents in Pirongia. Miss F. Van Houtte, of the W.A.A.F., Hamilton, was the guest of Mrs T. Bardsley over the week-end. Private Trevor Bray spent short leave at his home in Pirongia. Mr and Mrs Steel, of Pirongia, are the guests of Mrs Aubin, Kawhia.
