AIRMAN HONOURED

DANCE AT TE KAWA. There was a very large attendance of residents of the district at the Te Kawa Hall last evening, when Leading Aircraftsman Cyril Shaw was tendered a complimentary dance. The music was supplied by Mrs E. Holmes, while Messrs W. R. Burton and J. McLean officiated as Masters of Ceremonies. Non-dancers were catered for by a series of card games. During the evening, Mr J. L. Wallis presented the guest of the evening with a well-filled money belt and, on behalf of those present, wished him all good luck in his military career. After the guest had been accorded musical honours, the Airman appropriately achknowledged the compliment paid him. Dancing was then resumed with a vim till midnight, when the singing of the National Anthem and “Auld Lang Syne” concluded a very pleasant evening.
