THE WAIPA UNION. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. I The weekly meeting of the Man- I agument Committee of the Waipa Rugby Union was held on Monday evening, when there were present: Messrs W- H. Parish (chairman), R Guy, A. H. Richard, A. Betts, L. T. Brown, and the secretary (Mr H. T. Haselden). The Commander of the Royal Nev Zealand Air Force at Whenuapa’ wrote thanking the Union for its invitation to send a team to Te AwamiLU on September 13, but he asked that the proposal be held in abeyance for a fortnight, when he Would fur ther communicate with the Union. The Chief Instructor at Papakuro camp wrote regretting his inability to send a team to Te Awamutu, as his players were fully engaged in the Auckland, competitions and games in the camp. It was arranged to plav the following matches at Matamata on Saturday next:— Finlay Cup: Play’ to commence at 2.15 p.m.; local players to assemble at the Post Office at 12.30 p.m. sharp. Manager: Mr L. T. Brown. Cucksey Cup: Play to commence at 1.30 p.m.; bus to leave Te Awamutu at 11.15 a.m. sharp. Manager: Mi W. H. Parish. The secretary reported receipt of the balance-sheet of the Peace Cup elimination game at Rotorua. The net proceeds had been £9 19s 6d, but Rotorua had forwarded a cheque for £lO, being the amount of the guarantee. The dinner to the winners of the senior championship will be held in the. Te Awamutu Hotel on August 16. THE FINLAY CUP. The Waipa team to travel to Matamata on Saturday next to play Matamata (holders) for the Finlay Cup is as follows:—Fullback: Whitehead: three-quarters: Edwards, Davidson and Cqoper; five-eighths: Lawry and Potier; halfback: Calder (vicecaptain); front row: Parish, Mandeno and Johnson; middle row: Terry, Thomson, Donaldson and Te Puni; back row: Macky (captain). Reserves: Bell, Kay, McVerry, Old. The team is to assemble at 12.15 p.m. THIRD GRADE REPS. MATCH AT MATAMATA. I’he following will represent Waipa Third .Grade against Matamata Thirds at Matamata on Saturday in a match for the Cucksey Cup:— Marsden (Ohaupo), Wilson (Rovers), Sherley (Old Boys), Cullen (Old Boys), Douglas (Rovers), Pratt (Old Boys), Cox (Old Boys), Hull (Rovers), Clarke (Rovers), McDonald (Old Boys), Hinton (Rovers), Wyllie (High School), Kay (Old Boys), O’Connor (Rovers), Gilmore (Rovers). Reserves: Shirtcliff e (High School), Price (High School), Edwards (Old Boys), James (Rovers), Ranby (Ohaupo), Bailey (High School). The bus will leave Te Awamutu at 11.15 a.m.
