FANCY DRESS BALL

GIRL GUIDES’ SUCCESSFUL EVENING.

The enterprise and enthusiasm of the Te Awamutu Girl Guides and their committee were amply rewarded by the success of the fancy dress ball which they organised for young people in St. John’s .Parish Hall on Friday evening. The hall, which had been decorated with streamers, balloons and autumn leaves was filled to capacity with gaily and ingeniously dressed children, who enjoyed to the full the excellent supply and capable arrangement of the evening. The funds raised by the dance go towards sending a Te Awamutu Guide representative to the centennial camp. The hostess for the evening was Mrs A. Goodall, and the M.C. Mr L. Armstrong. The dance music was supplied by Messrs D. Fraser, W. Armour and G. Dalton, and extras were played by Mr E. Strange and Mrs M. G. Sullivan, and a much appreciated clog dance by Nola Morriss and Dawn Russell earned a loudly acclaimed encore. Among those in fancy costume, who included many Rovers from Hamilton, were: —
