OBITUARY
MR ALFRED LOVEJOY. A well-known and much respected pioneer settler of the Rangiatea district, Mr A. E. Lovejoy, passed away at the residence of Mr A. E. Dockery, on Friday last, at the ripe age of 92 years. Bom at Bracknell, England, the deceased arrived in this Dominion in 1872, landing in Wellington. He farmed for some years near Taihape, and afterwards drew one of the original sections at Rangiatea, then a district entirely in its virgin state of scrub, fern and teatree, etc. His wife predeceased him by many years. The interment took place at Otorohanga.
