CONDITIONS AT OTOROHANGA. WET SPELL EXPERIENCED. (Our Resident Representaive.) Rain has fallen in the Northern King Country in unusually heavy volume this month so far, and the present conditions are cold and wintry. The rivers and streams are running high. The rainfall for the month of April registered at Otorohanga was 5.93 in., and fell on 19 days, of which four days showed less than _.o4in., as compared with 4.94 in. recorded in April of 1937. The average shade temperature during the last month was 75 degrees, as against 63 degrees in April of the previous year. The average night temperature for 1937 was 43 degrees, as against 54 degrees recorded last, month.
