ST. BRIDE’S, OTOROHANGA. ADVANCE IN ALL BRANCHES Considerable progress in church affairs was evident at the annual meeting of St. Bride’s Church, Otorohanga, presided over by the vicar, the Rev. K. R. Small. The reports of all branches of church activity .and the balance-sheet showed signs of increased interest. Besides ending the year with a credit balance of £49 11s 6d it was shown that the vestry had handled during the year £409, as against £266, £207 and £195 for the three previous years. The vicar made a comprehensive report on the work done and outlined schemes for a further advance towards the complete reconstruction of the parish by March. 1940, the end of a five-year plan of campaign. The election of officers resulted as follows:—'People’s warden, Mr G. W. L. Palmer; vestry, Messrs C. Hotson, R. J. B. Morrison, C. S. Simmons, F. C. Fowler, H. G. Corbett, R. Cooke, W. I. Bowyer, C. J. Proecott (honorary secretary): synodsman, Mi* W. J. Sanders; Rural Deanery representatives, Messrs W. J. Sanders, G. W. L. Palmer and R. J. B. Morrison. The vicar appointed Mr W J. Sanders as vicar’s warden.
