CAMBRIDGE SALE.
Messrs Dalgeity and Company Limited, report having held their friweekly sale at Cambridge, on Monday, the 30th November, when an average yarding- of cattle was penned, the. quality being mostly Jersey, there being some good fatted cows in the entry. Competition for fat cows was good and a total clearance was effected in this section. In the store section boner and cull cows sold up to late rates and potter bulls also met with a ready sale, several pens of yearling heifers were dull of sale and did not reach the owner’s reserve/. A small yarding of dairies sold up to late rates. W'e quote:—Heavy fat Jersey cows £5 15s to £7 Is; other fat cows medium £4 17s to £5 12s 6d; light fat cows £4 5s to ;£4 15s; heavy second quality killable Jersey cows £3 9s to £4 Is 6d; heavy boner cows £2 15s to £3 9s; others according - to size and condition £2 8s to £2 13s; others £1 14s to £2 ss; cull cows £1 7s to £1 Ils; potter bulls medium £5 12s 6d; light £2 17s 6d to £3 12s 6d; Dairy Cattle.—Calved Jersey heifers £5 to £6; calved Jersey cows £5 10s to £7 10s. Pigs.—There was a medium yarding - of fat pigs and a full yard-ing-of store and weaner pigs. Baconers melt with keen competition and realised better prices than recent quotations; medium baconers £3 6s to £3 8s; buttermilk pigs £2 Is to £2 8s; heavy 38s to 395; lighter 30s to 335; large store £1 7s 6d to £1 14s; smaller 23s to 275; sows and litters £2 10s to £3 ss. PUTARURU SALE. .Messrs Dalgety and Company Limited report having held their Putaruru Sale on Monday, the 39th Novembqr, as under:—-Sheep.—Medium yarding, mostly fat ewes and wethers were! sold under good competition. We quote:—Fat shorn ewes 20s 9d to 225; fat wethers 25s to 265; fat shorn hoggets 24s 6d. Cattle.—Were yarded in average numbers and here again a good salei resulted, practically the whole yarding being sold under the hammer. We quote:—No extra heavy cattle were yarded. Fat Jersey heifers £6 2s 6d to £6 ss; light ditto £4 10s to £5 ss; fat cows £5 14s to £6 ss; light ditto £4 to £5 2s 6d; others £3 10s to £3 15s; fat Jersey steers £5 17s 6d; small P. A. yearling heif<irs £4 ss; Jersey yearling heifers £3 15s; heavy potter bulls £4 10s to £6; light £2 7s 6d to £4 2s 6d; small service bulls 32s 6d to £2. Horses. — Useful farm horse, aged, £l4. Pigs. —A good yarding - of all classes of pig's came forward, store and light conditioned pigs met with keen competition. Heavy and well finished baconers sold at late rates. Prices realised were:—-Heavy baconers £3 to £3 4s; medium ditto £2 15s to £2 18s; light baconers £2 7s to £2 15s; buttermilk nigs £2 2s to £2 7s; heavy porkers £1 18s to £2 Is; medium porkers £1 13s to £1 15s; light porkers 25s to 28s; slips £1 Is to £1 fils; |good weaners 19s to £1 Is; inferior sorts 15s.
