HAMILTON STOCK SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Company report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton on Tuesday, as loliows: — Fat sheep: An average yarding, fair demand, and prices lower than last week. Heavy wethers were not in demand, the best medium weight making 26s 6d to 27s 6d, prime shorn ewes 20s to 235, woolly fat ewes 25s to 27s 9d, fat woolly hoggets 26s 9d to 2s. Fat lambs: An average yarding. Good heavy made 24s to 265, light 20s to 235. Store sheep: A fair yarding. Prices were very firm at late rates, and a total clearance was effected. A pen of 56 2-tooth wethers 23s Bd, small pen Romney shorn 2-tooth ewes 355, pen Down-cross shorn 2-tooth ewes 28s, shorn cull ewes Ils 6d, woolly do. with lambs at foot 17s 6d (all counted), 50 cull Down-cross lambs 10s, 132 ditto 9s 6d, 94 very small lambs 4s 2d. Fat cattle: A fairly large yarding. Ox and heifer sold at late rates. Fat cows were 10s to 20s per head lower than last week. Light fat bullocks made £ll 15s, prime Polled Angus heifers £8 5s to £9 12s, fat cows £5 10s to £B, fat Jersey cows £4 15s to £6 2s 6d, runners £1 19s to £2 16s. Store cattle: A small yarding of mixed quality. Shorthorn cows and calves made £6, Jer. cows and calves £4 10s, 18-month Holstein steers £6 Is, yearling Jersey heifers £4 to £4 15s, potter bulls (small) £2 10s to £4, boner - and store cows £2 5s to £4 6s. F;si pigs: A smaller yarding of fat pigs than last week. There was good competition throughout the sale. Baconers were a shade firmer and porker prices were on a par wtih last week’s rates. Extra prime heavy baconers made £3 Ils, heavy baconers £3 3s to £3 10s, medium ditto £2 18s to £3 Is. heavy porkers and light baconers £2 10s to £2 17s, good porkers £2 3s to £2 Bs, light and unfinished £1 10s to 22. Store pigs: A smaller yarding, with prices firm at late rates. We yarded no good store pigs. Fair-quality store pigs made £1 10s to £1 13s, smaller ditto £1 6s to £1 9s, extra good slips £1 6s to £1 9s, slips 18s to £1 4s, best weaners 15s to £l, others 10s to 13s.
