FACTORY CLUB OPENS SEASON. The local Dairy Factory Tennis Club held its official opening of the season last Saturday afternoon, in de ■ lightful weather, and in the presence of a record attendance. Nearly all the other public clubs in Te Awamutu and neighbourhood were represented, and the courts, which are again in good order, were fully occupied throughout the afternoon. The president, Mr A. He accorded a very hearty welcome to the visitors, and assured them that the Dairy Factory Club much appreciated their presence. Then he called upon the club’s patron, Mr J. T. Young, to present the trophies won last season, as follows:—Ladies’ singles (Mr Young’s cup), Mrs H. Richards; men’s singles (Mr Roberts’ cup), Mr E. Missen; ladies’ doubles. Mrs J. Fleming and Miss E. Stanford; men’s doubles, Messrs H. Ward and G. Morriss; combined doubles, Mrs A. P. Harvey and Mr E. Missen.
