NUMBER IN DOMINION. The annual report of the Public Service Superannuation Board for the year ended March 31, 1936, presented in the House of Representatives, shows that the total number of public servants contributing to the fund at the end of the year was 191,999. Their annual salary earnings aggregated £4,946,468, and their annual contributions to the fund totalled £263,076. During the year 1760 new contributors joined the scheme. The report states that the total income for the year was £565,307, including members’ ordinary contributions amounting to £256,425, contributions from the Government totalling £147,952, and interest amounting to £151,599. Pensions paid during the year amounted to £494,988, the total outgoings for the year being £548,518. The accumulated funds at the end of the year were £2,934,239, and the total assets of the fund amounted to £3,028,433.
