“THE YOUNG IDEA”
PRESENTATION IN TE AWAMUTU. It is now five years since a threeact play fully dressed and acted was presented in Te Awamutu, and all lovers of “flesh and blood” drama will be interested and pleased to know that Te Awamutu Drama Club has arranged for the Hamilton Playbox to present Noel Coward’s sparkling comedy, “ The Young Idea,” locally early next week. The plot concerns the attempts of a son and daughter to reconcile their parents, and naturally many mirthprovoking situations arise. The Hamilton Playbox has always set a very high standard with its productions, and under an experienced producer “ The Young Idea ” had a very successful two nights’ season in Hamilton last month. It also competed with outstanding success in the Waikato Area Drama Festival held recently. Noel Coward, the author, has captured the audiences of to-day with the wit and emotion of his time. He is essentially a man of the modern theatre, and expresses at all times the modern spirit. As a record house is anticipated early bookings are advisable, and a very interesting and ‘entertaining evening is assured.
