PING PONG
ST. MARK’S GIRLS’ AND BOYS’ CLUBS r ■;'( On Monday evening the above clubs held a ping-pong tournament in the Parish Hall. Forty-eight players took part in the match, and ‘some very close and exciting games eventuated. At the end of the evening the results were —Girls’ Club 12 games, Boys’ Club 12 games. The final was then played between the leading players of each club, Miss D. Forrest representing' the girls, and Master F. Bush did battle on behalf of the boys. The game caused great excitement, and proved a close and exciting contest, both players beinv very evenly matched. The scores reached 20 all, and then Miss Forrest notched two strokes and won the honors of the evening for the Girls’ Club. Afterlight refreshments had been handed round the president of the Boys’ Club (Rev. R. L. Connolly) called for three cheers for the girls, and this brought a very pleasant evening to a close.. It is understood that a library is being started in connection with the clubs, and any donation of books or •magazines will be very gratefully received, either by Miss I. Lorie (president of the Girls’ Club), or the Vicar, Rev. R. L. Connolly.
