Waitoa Drainage.

Mr Matthew Henry’s Meeting.

A largely attended meeting of Waitoa settlers was addressed by Mr Matthew Henry at Waitoa on Monday evening on matters pertaining to the draining of the Waitoa area. Mr Henry dealt with his subject at some length and replied to various questions. He went over a considerable amount of old ground, and considered the present Board was making a mistake in draining the top part of the district before the lower end. He thought that they should have waited and started the drainage operations at the bottom of the block.

A vote of thanks for the address was voted to Mr Henry.
