This is still the order of the day, and the lovers of the noble game m this dis^ trict seem determined to enjoy it to the fullest extent practicable, when the weather is favourable, and whilst the days are sufficiently long. The match arranged for last Saturday, Representatives Katikati v. 15 All Comers, owing to the heavy rain, had to be abandoned^ To- Jay our representative team have gone to Katikati to do battle for oar goldfield against the Tauranga cricketers* who meet there them, being about half way between Te Aroha and Tauranga. 'I h ! meet was to be at Lawless' Hotel, Waiorongomai, and the party were to start at 6 o'clock. We hope our representatives will not only have an enjoyable trip to and f.ora the place oi: meeting, but also prove victorious. The negotiations for a match between Aroha and Thames have fallen through* Two matches are, however, being arranged for, to come off on the 21st and 22nd instant, and We hope nothing will occur to prevent their taking place, viz., Aroha v. Hamilton and same v. Cambridge, to bo played on the Hamilton and Cambridge grounds. The names of the local representative team elected to do duty to-day at Katikati are — Messrs Lawless, Hilntj. Trude, Hogan, Beeson, Hornibroolq Qttinian, Pavitt, Frater, Smith, and Fenton. We regret being unable to give with any degree of certainty the names of those who will comprise the Tauranga team.
