Th*. Usual fortnightly meeting of the above took place on Tuesday evening last m the Wesleyan Church ; Mr Ilott m the Chair, Mr Asliby presiding at the harmonium. Thd building was crowded, many friends from Waiorongomai being present, some of whom took part m the programme, which was as follows >— Reading, Mrs Blencowe ; recitation, Master Albert Joy, "The Teetotal Mill ; reading, Miss* Curtis ; son^ " Would you like to know how bread is made," MissE. Farrell ; recita^ tion, Mr H, Soppett ; read ng, Miss Lawry; recitation, "The Drunkard's Child," Miss L. Devey $ song, " Tlie Miller of the Dee," Mr'Smitlie ; recitation, "All well that ends well," Mr England j dialogue, " White Lies/ Misses A. Allen, L. McLatclsy, nnd M* Hotchin ,• reading, " How to save your bauon," Mr Ilott; .recitation, "The Drunkard's story, ' Mr 1\ P. Judkins j song, "Gathered Roses," <Miss Alice Sniithe $ dialogue, " A morning con* versation between Mr and Mrs JBolingbrook," Mr W» ABhby and Miss A* Hotchin ; song, " The Parson and the clock," Mr England; recitation, "The little abstainer," Master Evan timithe* Interspersed with selections from Hoyle's Temperance songs and hymns. At the close several new members were enrolled*
