I TO-DAY'S CASES, Mr S. E. McCarthy, S.M.. presided over a sitting of the Magistrate's Court to-day. Drunkenness.—A first offender was fined 5/-, In default 24 hours' imprisonment. Three Charges.—George Williams was convicted jiiul discharged for drunkenness, and ordered to pay £l, damage done to a policeman's helmet, in default seven days* imprisonment. On a charge of hnving used obscene language he was fined 13, in. default li days' Imprisonment. Alleged Carnal Knowledge.—Alfred Lancelot Piper, aged 22 years, was remanded till August 19, on a charge of carnally knowing a girl under 1(5 years of age. Bail was allowed, self in £IOO or two sureties of £SO. Idle and Disorder!}*. —John George Winton, aged 17 years, was remanded till August \t on a charge of being Idle and disorderly, in that he has insufficient lawful means of support. In the meantime, his parents in Duncdin will he communicated with, and he will he placed under medical surveillance, as he is considered to he abnormal*
