SOLDIERS' DAY. TO-MORROW'S ARRANGEMENTS. The ceremony of laying the foundation stone of the new Soldiers' Club building, in Gloucester Street, will be performed at 10.30 a.m. to-morrow by Admiral Jellicoe. There is every indication that tomorrow's parade will be the largest held in Christchurch. All returned soldiers in Christchurch are asked to parade in uniform outside the association's rooms at 9.30 a.m. or those who are unable to parade in uniform there will be. a special unit for soldiers in mufti, -wearing the badge. The men, who will carry the banners presented to the association by the Peace Celebrations Committee, signifying the various big engagements in which the New Zealanders participated, ■ will proceed to the railway station, where they will meet 400 men from 11.M.5. New Zealand. The sailors will be accompanied by their officers, and two bands from the ship, a pipe band antl a brass band. Tho soldiers, who will be in tho charge of Colonel G. J. Smith, will have the Lyttelton Marine Band, the Christchurch Highland Pipe Band and the Caledonian Society's Pipe Band. It is expected that Captain Leggett will head the procession.

At 10 o'clock the procession will proceed via the main streets to the club site, where Admiral Jellicoe will perform the ceremony. Lady Jellicoe will be present. Short speeches will be delivered by Admiral Jellicoe, the Mayor and Mr O. T. J. Alpers, chairman of the Soldiers' Building Fund. Seating accommodation will, be provided for 300 guests. The ceremony is expected to conclude about 11.30 a.m., when the sailors will proceed to the Trotting Grounds at Addington, where they will be provided with luncheon by members of the trotting clubs. After the trotting meeting, high tea will be given to soldiers and sailors at the Colosseum by the members of the Women's National Reserve. This will be followed by a smoke concert at 7.30. Sailors will be admitted free to these t functions but returned soldiers will be charged 2/6. During the day street collections will bo made on behalf of the Soldiers' Building Fund, which needs to be augmented by £4OOO, so that the club may be opened free of debt. A number of young ladies, assisted by 40 sailors, will assist in the work of collecting. Prizes will be offered for the best boxes brought in.
