ASHBURTON COUNTY.
NO AMALGAMATED CONTROL. [Special to The Son.] ASHBURTON, September 5. The result of the referendum of the Ashburton County Council on the question of the abolition of road boards, which was laid on' the table at the council's meeting to-day, showed that a majority was in favour of the council and road boards remaining as at present constituted. The return showed that about half the. ratepayers had recorded their votes.
