FIRE AT NEW BRIGHTON.

Early yesterday afternoon, a fiveroomed bungalow in George Street, New Brighton, owned by the trustees of the late Mrs L. Palmer, and occupied by Mr T. Wilson, was totally destroyed. The origin of the fire is uncertain, Mr Wilson being absent from the house at the time of the occurrence. Members of the Fire Brigade, with chemical extinguishers, saved the houses on either side, the property respectively of Mr Freeman and Mrs Christian, both of which were on fire at times, and were badly scorched. The building was covered for £SOO by the New Zealand Insurance Company.
