TRAMWAY BOARD.

FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The Christchurch Tramway Board met yesterday afternoon, there being present: Hon. John liarr, M.L.C. (chairman) and Messrs A. S. Staples, D. Sykes, A. S. Taylor, W. J. Walter, and 6. T. Booth. The Works and Traffic Committee ported that the ear shed roof at Falsgrave Street was in a bad state of disrepair. To roof the whole shed with Poilite tiles would cost £2195, and with Certainteed £1415. New iron would cost £4200. The committee had' decided to arrange for temporary repairs at a cost of £2OO. It had been decided to delay, the relaying of Colombo Street permanent way (from Hereford Street to Moorhouse Avenue) until the arrival of the shipment of British standard girder rails, expected in about six weeks' time. The committee had authorised the engineer to obtain quotations for 2500 hardwood sleepers from Australia, and place indent orders for car equipment amounting to £750. The Burwood Burge-ses'.
