MAR3ST BROTHERS’ OLD BOYS’ CLUE." The animal meeting of the Marist Brothers’ OM Boys’ Football Club was held last evening, the Rev. Bro. Palladios presiding over a fair attendance. The report stated that the season had been a successful one, both from a playing and financial point of view. During the year (he club had been considerably weakened by the departure of men who were now doing their duty for King and country, and several old boys had made the supreme sacrifice. The report was adopted. A motion of condolence with those who had lost relatives at the front was carried in silence, the members stauding. The balance-sheet, which was adopted, showed receipts amounting to £39 13/10 and an expenditure of £36 3/6, leaving a credit balance of £3 10/4. Correspondence was received from the Canterbury Rugby Union with regard to the programme of matches for the coming year. The sub-committee appointed by the union to go into the question had suggested that the ordinary competitions be again suspended, and in place thereof the following competitions be held during the season:— (1) First grade competition open to members of clubs irrespective of age; (2) second grade (open); (3) third grade' (open); (4) fourth grade for players who have not reached their sixteenth birthday on April 1, 1918. The union also recommended that more attention be given to the coaching of the younger players, and suggested that more should be done for the boys on leaving school. It was decided that the delegates to the union be given a free hand in the matter. Officers were elected as follow: Patron, Dr Brodie; president, Sir George Clifford; chairman and club captain, Rev. Brother Palladius; deputy-captain, Mr J. C. Mullins; honorary secretary, Mr P. Greenlees; treasurer, Mr G. Dobbs; committee, Messrs Fitzgerald, T. Gee, B. Flood, .McCormack, and J. McQuillan; auditors, Rev. Brother Palladius and Mr M. Garty; delegates to the Rugby Union, Rev. Brother Palladius, Messrs Dobbs, Greenlees, and McCormack. The opening dav was fixed for March 23. “
