HOCKEY.
CRANFORD CLUB. The seventh annual general meeting of the Cranford Hockey Club was held on Monday, 21 members attending, Mr A. A. Vincent being in the chair. The annual report showed the membership to be s.'i, and the financial statement presented a credit balance of £2 13/11. The club had had a very successful season, the third grade team annexing the Canterbury Hockey Association’s Shield. The following officers were elected: — Patron, J. W. Beanland; president, A. A. Vincent; vice-presidents. It. Barter, A. Neate, A. Lawrence, W. J. Franklin, G. Lucas, C. Spicer; deputy club captain, J. Soper; secretary and treasurer, H. L. Hamilton; committee, E. A. Hnrland, F. J. Faulkner, A. Lawrence, C. Ward, L. Atyco, R. J. Templeton; auditor, P. N. Quartermain; delegates to Canterbury Hockey Association, P. N. Quartcrmain and J. Soper. At the close of the meeting the following resolution was carried in silence, the members standing;—“ That this seventh annual meeting of the Cranford Hockey Club desires to express its deepest sympathy with the parents of Leslie Parkyn, Leslie Hunt, Eric Cobeldick. and .Tack Smith, members of the club who have fallen in this war, and to place on record the good work performed by them whilst members of the Cranford Hockey Club.”
