THE PAPAROA MINE.
Press Aiwociation. GREYMOI'TH, November 2. The Paparoa mine is idle, the men erasing work through a difference oil interpretation between the manager and the miners of a clause of the <'o.:l Mines Act. A conference was held today at which a labour representative and the inspector of Mines were pro-. sent. The mine manager states that there is no settlement yet, hut it is believed that a compromise is likely, mi I that work will be resumed next week under normal conditions.
