ROWING.
CANTERBURY ROWING CLUB. This afternoon the Canterbury Rowing Club held the finals of the Trial Pairs and the Presidents Fours, and the race between the High School and Christ's College second crews was also held under its auspices. The results are as follow: Trial P:\irs: Livingstone and Stewart beat Morrison and Smith. President's Fours: Pinwell (st), Parson, j Strouts, and Philips beat Dunsl'ord (st), Moslcv, A. Wilson, and Morgan. High School v. Christ's College: Duff (st), Goodwin, Sullivan, and Edgar beat Chesson (st), Hawker, Moore, and Manning. AVON ROWING CLUB. The Trial Pairs rowed off resulted as | follows: ! First heat —D. Stevenson (stroke), D. Bryant (bow), beat C. Pearee (stroke), W. J. Marshall (bow). Second heat —A. Henry (stroke), J. McGeorge (bow) beat S. Julian (stroke), F. Barber (bow). Third heat—S. Andrews (stroke), A. Carmiehael (bow) beat S. Maples (stroke), B. Barwell (bow),. Semi-final —Andrews beat Stevenson; Henry a bye. j Final—A. Henry (stroke), J. McGeorge won by a length, after a good race. The following crews have been selected for the new members' trial double sculls, half a mile: —L. Barwell (stroke), D. Stevenson (bow), A. Henry (stroke), A. Carmiehael (bow); G. Scott (stroke), Prichard (bow); A. Andrews (stroke), H. Keys (bow); W. J. Marshall (stroke), F. Barber (bow); J. McGeorge (stroke), Flint (bow). The race is to be rowed about December 19. The crews of the club's double sculls are now in training, and they are so evenly matched that the winner is hard to pick out.' F. Adkins will be hard to beat if only his bow will keep time and stick to it.
