1 From Our Own Correspondtnt A committee meeting of the Sumner Tennis and Croquet Club was held last . evening, Mr J. M. B. Crawford presiding. It was decided to hold a progressive doubles tournament on December 16, in 3 aid of the presentation fund, and to 3 arrange an interclub match for the 18th. It was also decided to hold a 1 croquet tournament in aid of the same 1 fund. Twenty-two members were eleet- . ed. The treasurer was authorised to get in all outstanding subscriptions. I Lieuts. C. I. Denham and J. Hines, who are leaving for England to take up positions in the Naval Reserve, were > farewelled by the Send-off Committee " at Sumner last evening. Mr A. C. "WilT son, who occupied the chair, referred to the many good qualities of the guests , as citizens oi : Sumner, and conveyed to i them the best wishes of the residents in 3i their new duties. On behalf of the - committee, he presented each with a tlask, suitably inscribed. Mr J. M. B. Crawford, president of the Tennis and " Croquet Club, also presented Lieut. Denham with a pocket-book. The usual ' toasts were honoured, and musical items were contributed bv Messrs H. J. Mar--1 riner, G. W. Atmore, W. F. Raphael, D. Laurenson, H. Wiggins, and J. Harley. To-night the Sumner Brass Band will - play the following programme on the i | rotunda, commencing at 8 p.m.:—March, 1 "Stars and Cross" (Lithgow); selecI tion, "Old Favourites" (Riminer); ga- > votte, "Usphanie" (Orzibulka); march, "Ragtime"; selection, "Gems from ! Melbourne" (Pelham); solo and chorus, . "Moonlight Bay" (Wenrich); waltz, . "Queen of Dreams" (Lithgow); march, s "Marching to the Front" (Ord Hume).
