RED CROSS.
MERIVALE AND RUGBY STREET. At the monthly meeting of the Morivale and Rugby Street Red Cross unit, the president, Mr C. E. Salter, presided. The working units reported the following goods delivered, and that numerous completed articles were awaiting delivery:—llß6 roller bandages, 50 triangulars, 25 limb pillows, 2160 swabs, 560 abdominal swabs, 8 pair socks, 6 vests, 2 day shirts, 13 scarves, 1 bed jacket, 9 washers, and 2 waistcoats. The treasurer reported that the monthly subscriptions were keeping fairly regular, though showing a slight decrease. He then brought before the meeting a circular from the Lady Liverpool Fund Committee, in which assistance had been sought from the working units. The following resolution was passed unanimously:—"That, in the opinion of this committee, it is not right for any Red Cross funds to be diverted in any other direction or for any other purpose." Members expressed the opinion that, apart from the funds, some assistance might be rendered by collectors bespeaking petrol cases and in other ways.
