GRENADE FIGHTING.
FRENCH PROGRESS. BAD WEATHER INTERFERES. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. PARIS, October 3. A communique states: —We made progress by grenade fighting eastward and northward of Courcelette. A small attack on our trenches to the southward of Vermandovillers was repulsed. Bad weather impeded our operations on the whole Somme front.
