NEW ZEALAND GRAND LODGE.

MEETS HERE NEXT WEEK.

The annual meeting of the Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free, and Accepted Masons of New Zealand will commence at Christchurch at 10 a.m. on Wednesday next in the Victoria Hall. The meeting will probablv last two or three days. The installation of R.W. Bro. J. J. Dougall, as Grand Master, will take place in the Choral Hall on the Wednesday evening. He succeeds M.W. Bro. Maurice Thompson, of Invereargill, who has been Grand Master for two years. The meeting will be attended by several hundred delegates from all over the Dominion. There are now in New Zealand over 200 lodges, with 15,000 members. The most important subject of discussion will be a proposal to change the headquarters of the lodge permanently to Wellington, instead of having headquarters for a peri oil in various places. Last year, at Auckland, it was decided to establish permanent headquarters, and this year a motion to rescind this resolution wilt be brought down. Important reports will be those of the Boards of Benevolence and General Purposes, and the Annuity Board. Of the lodge's income of £."io,000, several thousands per annum are distributed in benevolence. A conversazione and dance will be held in the Choral Hall on Thursday evening.
