PUBLIC SERVICE DINNER.
Amongst those who will be present at the dinner of the Canterbury •branch of the New Zealand Public Service Association, to be held on Saturday, at 7 p.m., in Aschoff's restaurant, High Street, will be: The Hon A. L. Herdman, who introduced the Public Service Act; Messrs T. H. Davey, M.P., J. M'Combs, M.P., and other local members of Parliament; the Public Service Commissioner, Mr D. Robertson, 1.5.0., Mr A. D. Thomson, Assistant Commissioner, the members of the Appeal Board, Messrs Peter Barr, J. H. Richardson, Arthur Marryatt, F. J. Mowatt, if in town; the Mayor, Mr H. Holland; Mr J. J. Dougall, president of the Navy League; Mr J. W. Mac Donald, president of the New Zealand Public Service Association;- Mr G. Allport, Canterbury representative on the executtve; Mr C. G. damp, president of the New Zealand Post and Telegraph Association; and Mr W. P. Williams, chairman of the local Railway Officers' Institute; and also a representative of the Teachers' Institute*
It is thought that this will probably be the most important and representative gathering of Civil Servants and State employees that has yet been held in New Zealand.
